Custom domain is best for a blog to get more traffic and response usually people don't follow .blogspot blogs people mostly avoid .blogspot blogs as compare to custom domains, so in this post i am going to explain how to add a custom domain in your blogspot blog.
If you want to buy a domain from blogger.com then follow the instruction # 1 below, if you already purchased a domain from any other domain reseller company and want to add your custom domain to your blog then follow the instruction # 2.
Instruction # 1
Go to Your blogger Homepage > Your Blog > Setting > there will be a option of Publishing like this
Now click on +Add a custom domain link and you will see the search domain box like below image to search a domain name to check either it is free or already in use.
when you type a domain name in the search box like the image above it will show you a option the domain name is unavailable if your typed domain name is not available if your typed domain name is available it will redirect you to Google App shop there will be a option of 'continue registration' and then provide all your credit card details and it is completed, now within 24 hours your blog will be redirect on your custom domain.
It will cost $10 USD and it will automatically redirect your previous .blogspot URL to your new domain name and all your blogs posts,labels, archives everything within 24 hours.
Instruction # 2
Go to Blogger.com > Your Blog > Setting > there will be the option of Publishing like the image below
write your domain name in the box like the image above the arrow is showing the box, write your domain name in the box and then click save button, now it will ask you to verify your authority to this domain and it will ask you to add two new cname in your domain DNS setting and it will also give you two cname to add.
Now Go to the website where your domain is registered and then go to the DNS (Domain Name System) setting and create two new CNAMEs, one with name = www and destination = ghs.google.com now create another CNAME and add the code below the 1.www see the image above blogger will show different code to different users so you will get your own unique code just copy it and paste it in name and add another code to destination better is learn how to Create CNAME for your custom domain after you added two CNAMEs come back to your blogger home > your blog > Setting where you will find the publishing option click on switch to advanced setting and write your domain name and save it and blogger will say you it will take 24 hours to redirect your .blogspot to your custom domain.
