Both are best for start blogging career but in WordPress there is many more options like plugins, modified templates and there is many other options and WordPress is also good for SEO and blogger is also good for beginners to start blogging i am using blogger because it is very easy to use and it is free you just need a custom domain for your blog and you can purchased it from any domain seller site for 9$ or 10$.
I've set up many small blogs for niches that i am interested, if you think you can write articles about niches you are interested then start blogging from today.
Unique Content and well written articles always make thousands of dollars Google need it why your waiting for create your blog today and start writing, but for making a profitable blog you also need to know about basic SEO to get good PR in Google to get traffic from Search Engines.
You can earn through Google adsense, affiliate marketing, clickbank there is a lot of methods to make money with your blog don't think about it now first make a good ranked blog and try to get more traffic from Social Media and Search Engines that it.
Submit your blog into most popular directories i.e Yahoo directory, Dmoz directory and many others if you write unique content then users will rope your content and share it all over the internet and you will get natural backlinks and your blog will get high PR in Search Engines.
