Do not use copy paste material in your blog, another way is to write unique articles do not copy and paste, Google needs reliability, authentication to give you top ranking, add your about me gadget in sidebar and tell Google who are you.
usually people purchase domain names yearly basis but if you purchase it for 5 years once a time, Google will think now this blog will be indexed for 5 years and it will give you good ranking, do something which illustrate Google about you and your website and your content be reliable with Google.
